1. How Courses Work

How many hours is the course worth?
AZ 10 without photos; AZ 15 with photos.

How do I take a course over the internet?
1. Go to homestudycredit.com if you are a mental health professiona or activityprofessional.com if you are an activity director.
2. Click "Content" .
3. Read the content.
4. Complete Answer Booklet.
5. Enter identifying information and payment authorization code or registration number.
6. Get a certificate with your name on it, which you can save to your computer, and print.

How does the audio format work?
1. You are mailed, via first-class mail, a Course Content manual, CD, and an Answer Booklet. 
2. Listen to the CD and read the Manual.
3. Answer the questions in the Answer Booklet. 
4. Return the Answer Booklet to the address on the cover via first-class mail.
5. You will be mailed a personalized Certificate which is shipped within 48 hours of receiving your completed Answer Booklet.

Is there a time limit to complete the course?
No; at present, we accept any of our completed Answer Booklets and issue a certificate, regardless of how long it has been since you purchased the course.

Are courses I ordered long ago still valid for CE credit?
Yes; there is no continuing education credit expiration for the courses.

How will I know if I’ve passed?
The questions in the Answer Booklet are simple easy-to-answer questions. They are not intended to trick you. Don’t be alarmed if they seem ‘too easy’. If you really want to be sure, of your score you can get anonymous, unlimited free trials.

#2. Answer Booklet

I did not get 100% on the web, when I know all of my Answer were correct. Or,my Answer Booklet numbers do not match the CD or Manual numbers, or does not match the internet.
For "Ethical and Cultural Issues Arising from the Psychology of Terrorism", the sequence of questions in the Answer Booklet on the internet is different from the order of questions on your hard copy. Therefore, rather than just copying a set of letters from your hard copy Answer Booklet, make sure the questions are in the same order.

When taking the course on-line do I need to Answer all of the questions at once?
No, you do not need to answer all of the questions at once. If you choose to complete the course in more than one session:

1. Print a hard copy of your Answer Booklet (or write them down).
2. Re-enter these answers when you return to the site.
3. Then when you have completed all answers, click the "Check your Score" button.
4. Enter in your authorization code or registration number to get a certificate.
Your answers will not be saved. See the reason in question below.

Will my answers be saved from one work sessions to the next?
1. No, your answers will not be saved from one work session til the next. That is why we recommend that you write down your answers or print a hard copy of your Answer Booklet between your work sessions.
2. The reason we did not build this "save answer" feature into the program is because this feature requires a "cookie" type of programming code to reside in your computer. Many computers will not accept "cookie" type programs. Thus, many users would not be able to access the Answer Booklet if we built in this "save answer" feature.

Can I FAX you my Answer Booklet?
No, because of our State Continuing Education Licensure Agreements, we cannot send or receive Answer Booklets via FAX. However, you can receive a certificate today over the internet by following these steps:
1. Click "Courses and Content" Select your course.
2. Enter in your answers and score. You get anonymous unlimited FREE trials.
3. Enter your registration number or payment authorization code to receive a certificate.

I forgot to fill in my license number or I put in the wrong license number on my Answer Booklet.

That’s not a problem; that information is not mandatory.

Do I need to mail in my Answer Booklet if I get the certificate online?
1. No, do not mail the Answer Booklet, if you received your certificate online.
2. Your online record of successful completion is electronically transferred to our Order Data Base.

Do I need my license number?
1. No. You do not need your license number for your certificate. Providing this is optional.
2. Your registration number on your certificate verifies payment and a passing score of 80% or better.

4 . Score their answers. You get unlimited anonymous free scoring of answers.
5 . Enter identifying information and receive a certificate with your name, address, etc. that can be printed or downloaded.

What is the turnaround time for getting a certificate through the US mail (from the time I send in my Answer Booklet)?
1. From the time we receive your Answer Booklet, your certificate is mailed to you via first-class mail within 48 hours.
2. However, keep in mind we are located in Indiana.
3. Allow mailing time for your Answer Booklet to get to us and mailing time for the certificate to get to you. Calculate the number of days based upon your experience of sending and receiving first-class mail to the Midwest.

If you are running close to your deadline, you can get a certificate today if you...
1. Click the "Courses and Cost" choose the course.
2. Complete the Answer Booklet.
3. Score your answers. You get anonymous unlimited free scoring of answers.
4. Enter identifying information and authorization code or registration number to get a printable certificate downloaded.

Can I read my answers to you over the phone to your Order Taking Service and fax me the certificate.
1. No, because of our agreement with State Continuing Education Licensure Boards, we cannot accept your answers over the phone. We need a hard copy or electronically transferred copy of the your Answer Booklet. 
2. If you have problems with internet access you might use a public computer lab at a print shop or local library.
3. We cannot accept a faxed Answer Booklet.

Is the certificate I just printed out valid?
1. All the certificate needs to have to be considered valid is your name, the proper issue date, the course name and how many CE’s were earned by completing the course
2. The registration number on your certificate verifies your payment and a passing score of 80% or higher.

#5. Course Cost

Is an Answer Booklet included in the pricing of a course?
Yes, when you purchase the Audio Format a complete course, for example a 10 hour course for $85, you get the Course Manual, CDs, and one Answer Booklet.
Answer Booklets may be purchased separately if more than one person is taking the course. This "Group Rate" is explained on the Registration Blank panel of our Brochure and does not apply to internet orders.

How much do the courses cost?
1. A 10 hour course is $85.
2. Click "Courses & Cost" to get Course Titles, Cost, and number of CE hours.

Why does it cost so much for an Answer Booklet and Manual that is only photocopied piecest?
1. What the fee is paying for is the continuing education credits needed for professional relicensure.
2. What the fee also pays for is the development of the Course Content and Answer Booklet.
3 . The fee also pays for the process that it takes to initiate and maintain provider status and CE Credit approval and CE Credit acceptance. 
4 . The average cost of a 6 hour seminar is $150. Our 6 hour home study course is $65. 

The Brochure states the Answer Booklet is cheaper. Why can't we get this discounted Answer Booklet price on the internet?
1. The discount price for the purchase of an Answer Booklet only is intended to apply, as indicated in the brochure, to Group Orders.
2. So the discount for the purchase of an Answer Booklet is given for people who purchase a full price course and additional answer booklets.
3. Therefore, the discounted Answer Booklet price is based on a multiple purchase of the same course and not just a single purchase over the internet.
4. This is a price break intended for a group purchasing more than one item.
5. A 10% discount is available on the internet if you purchase more than one Course over the internet.

#6. Credit Card Charges

How will the charge appear on my credit card statement?
The charge will appear on your credit card statement as from the" Healthcare Training Institute." The website won't take the last three digits of my credit card.
1. Only enter in the digits that appear on the front of your card
2. You don't need to enter the 'authorization' three digits that only appear on the back of your card.
3. Do not put any spaces or dashes between the numbers of your credit card.

#7. Continuing Education (CE) Approvals

After reading your CE Approvals page my question is still not answered.
1. If you cannot find your profession and/or state in "CE Approvals", your state either does not accept home studty or accepts less than 10 hours of home study.
2. Click CE Regulations to access your professions CE requirements.
3. We do not propose to be the definitive sources of CE Approval information. The telephone number of your board may be found on "CE Approvals" page. Please call your Board for answers to specific questions that cannot be found on our site.

Is the course approved for Ethics hours in my state?
1. Click "CE Approvals"
23. If your state and/or profession is not listed, your state either does not accept home study, or accepts less than 10 hrs of HS.
3. The following are the Ethics hours that we offer: PC-6 hrs of Ethics; CB-10 hrs of Ethics; PT-4 hrs of Ethics; and EC-3 hrs of Ethics. As you can see, for example, PC is worth 6 hours of credit total, and all 6 hours can count for Ethics.
4. If your state only requires a minimum of 3 hrs of Ethics and you take a 10 hr course, the remaining hours can "count" toward you total requirement..
5. If you have any other questions regarding the requirements in your state, call your Board.

When is my CE Deadline?
1. Each state sets a different deadline date for different professions.
2. Many deadlines are listed by clicking CE Approvals


Validity of Certificate: Would a certificate on the website be equally valid?
Your web certificate has a date, your name, the course name and number of CE’s earned, and your registration number. That’s all that needs to be on a certificate to be considered valid.

Why do I need my Registration Number?
Your Registration number or credit card authorization code verifies your payment and is needed to receive an online certificate.

When do I receive an Authorization Code and when do I receive a Registration Number?
1. Both numbers are equally valid for receiving a certificate.
2. When you enter your credit card number on the Order Form you are electronically issues a Payment Authorization Code, which you can use to get a certificate online.
3. When you call in an order and give your credit card number to our Order Taking Service the operator will give you a Registration Number, which you can use to get a certificate online.
4. Authorizaton Codes are gnerated by the secure Credit Card Merchant system.
Registration Numbers are generated by our Order Data Base on the Order Taking Service Operator has entered you order and successfully processed your credit card charge.

I can't figure out how to do the course online.
1. Complete Answer Booklet. You get FREE Scoring with anonymous unlimited trials.
2. Mail or, submit online, completed Answer Booklet. Pay by mail, phone, or online.
3. Certificate for Licensure Renewal is received instantly online or mailed to you!

I clicked the link and it would not take me to where I wanted to go on your website.

How can I get my score online?
1. Click Answer Booklet and answer the questions. 
2. Click "Check your Score" button. 
3. You get unlimited anonymous free trials to get a score of 80% or higher
4. Enter identifying information and payment authorization code or registration number.
5. Get printable certificate to download or select to have the certificate mailed to you.
Since certificates are mailed via First Class mail, allow 3-4 days mailing time from Indiana.

Do I have to do my internet format course all in one session?
1. No- You can print the Answer Booklet to complete at your leisure.
2. However, the website will not save your answers from session to session.
3. To save the answers from session to session, programs known as "cookies" need to reside on your computer. Some computers will not accept "cookies". For this reason, we do not use "cookies" which would facilitate the saving of your answers.

Can I order one course in the internet format course and a second different course in the audio format?
Yes, you need to make two separate orders, specifying ‘internet format’ for one, and ‘audio format’ for the other one. Since orders require two separate processings the 10% discount does not apply.

I ordered the Audio Format. Can I switch todo the same course I ordered and take the internet format on the web?
Yes, just enter in your payment authorization code or registration number to get an online certificate.

#11. Audio Orders

My CE deadline is soon and I ordered the Audio Format!
1. Take your course on line by clicking Course Content. To get your certificate instantly use the Registration Number printed on your receipt.
2. If you do not want to take the course on the internet, prior to mailing via First Class Mail, put today's date on the bottom of the cover of their Answer Booklet. We will back date your certificate, since that was the actual date of course completion.
3. Do not mail your Answer Booklet via any form of specail, certified, or express mail. This will cause processing delays due to the special pick-up at the window required by the post office. First Clas mail is deposited directly into our PO Box and picked up daily. However, window pickups are only conducted on a 7 to 14 day cycle

#12. Payment

I bought the course a long time ago. Can I still get a certificate?
Yes, there is no expiration date on course materials.

Will I receive a receipt?
1. If you provide a valid email address, you will receive a receipt via email.
2. If they have ordered the audio format, a receipt is affixed to the outside of the padded envelope which contains their order. The receipt is enclosed in a clear plastic shipping envelope affixed to the padded envelope.

I do not have a credit card number to be given at the time of their order.
We operate on a cash basis only. No credit is extended, which would result in issuing a billing statement. If you do not have a credit card number, you might write a check and follow the directions given on the Order Form.

Can I pay by check?
1. Yes. You can send a check as payment with the order form on the back of our brochure in any regular envelope. 
2. If you don’t have a brochure, print a hard copy of the Order Formn and send a check if you wish the Audio Format.
3. Or you can print a hard copy of a completed Answer Booklet page and send a check for the course cost.

1. No, we operate on a cash basis, and only mail courses after we have received payment.
2. We can send an invoice should you need to generate a check.
3. We can send a W-9 should you need one for tax reporting purposes.

May I be refunded for the 10% discount I would have received if I would have ordered all my courses together?
No, by ordering courses all together, processing time is saved. This saved processing by ordering severals Courses at once, allows us to offer the 10% discount.

I have received the Audio Format of the course and I would like a refund.
1. No Return Authorication Code is needed or reason given for return

#14. Shipping Time

How long will it take to get my Internet Format course?
1. There is no shipping time becasue you take the Course over the internet and nothing is sent to you, unless you choose to have your Certificate sent via First Class mail.
2. From the time you order, your order is shipped within 48 business hours, via first -class mail. You should receive your order approximately 3-5 days after it is shipped, provided there are no problems with the U.S. mail, depending upon the time for the mail from Indiana to where you are.

How are materials shipped in the mail?
First- Class mail. If using the audio Format, your Answer Booklet should be returned to the address on the cover first -class maill. Any form of special delivery mail will create delays due to the special pickup at he window required by the post office. window pick-ups are only made on a 7-14 day cycle.

Your brochure stated I would receive my order in 48 hours it took a week for me to get it.
1. The brochure states the order will be shipped within 48 hours, not that you will receive your order in 48 hours.
2. You need to allow time for shipping from Indiana via first -class mail, assuming there are no problems with the mail.
